We have been making our way around the world in the Jays and our adventures will continue this half term. We have learned lots of interesting things about England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales and have started to find out about India. We have tasted foods that each country is famous for (thanks again to Hemsby Fish and Chip shop!) and looked at landmarks and days of celebrations.

As part of the topic, children have been sharing their rhythm and movement skills in PE by learning some Country Dancing and Bollywood dancing.

In English, we have been going on quest journeys to find things that have gone missing or are needed. The children have worked really hard to make their stories adventurous and problematic for their characters. This half term we are looking at postcards (linked to Oliver Jeffers' 'The day the crayons quit') and learning to write information texts.

In Maths, we have been working with money, making totals using different coins and working out day-to-day money problems. A role play fruit tuck shop will be set up in the classroom so the children can keep using those very important life skills. We are learning our 2,5 and 10 times tables and will moving onto our 3s this half term.

Thank you for your support with the Reading Cafe. The elephants look stunning outside our classroom on display.
