The Owls have been finding out about the world and its weather this half term. In English they have travelled to Africa and Australia, writing their own African counting story and researching the Australian weather and seasons.
In Topic lessons, they have started creating their own passport to record their travels around the UK and the wider world. After half term, we will continue to 'visit' new places and add to our passports, focusing on the hottest and coldest parts of the world, as well as learning more about India.
The Owls have also been busy keeping their own daily weather diaries and talking about the weather changes from season to season. We have written our own weather forecasts and after half term we will learn more about the equipment used to record the weather.
Continuing with our travel theme of travel in DT, the children designed and made their own vehicle with axles and wheels, before evaluating their models. Colour mixing skills have been learnt in our Art lessons and used to produce beautiful landscapes paintings with silhouettes of buildings.
In Maths, we have been improving our addition and subtraction skills as well as understanding the value of digits in numbers. Keep practising counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s and don't forget those number bonds to 10 and 20!
