The Robins have had a very busy half term. We began by learning the story 'Whatever Next! Where Baby Bear visited the moon.' Thank you for your support completing the moon diary with your child. The children enjoyed coming in each day telling us how the moon had changed. We carried out many creative activities as we learnt about Space:designing our own planets and using junk materials to make rackets. We developed our fine motor skills through sewing star constellations and making underpants in our story cafe.
In phonics we have covered all the sounds for Reception and are now working on securing them in our reading and writing. Your child has been given a phase three bookmark which has a list of high frequency words and tricky words that we are learning. The aim is to read these words by sight and write them from memory.
In Maths we have been adding and subtracting with different objects, looked at 3D shapes, developing language to talk about them and have used them to build different models.
This half term our topic is 'Grow it. Eat it.' Miss Wells is with us until 29th March; she is will be carrying out much of the teaching for this topic.
